The Group of companies "Arkofarma" is a complex of industrial, laboratorial and research enterprises. The parent enterprise and the factory are in the city of Carros at a distance of 15 km from Nice; there also is a factory in Ireland, opened in the city of Waterford not long ago. The total area of shop floors is about 65 000 sq. meters. The group has the modern equipment at its disposal: approximately 70 industrial units and assembly lines with potential to work with all galenicals (powder capsules, greasy capsules, cosmetic officinal medicines).
Using the technology of cryogrinding, or grinding in liquid nitrogen at a temperature 196 degrees centigrade below zero, allows to keep all principles of plants undamaged. Besides, this technology gives the parts of the powder optimal size and increases the biological activity of its principles.
In the factory, the highly technological extractive method for preparation of liquid extracts for cosmetics is used , the so-called supercritical liquid extraction.
During the year 1998, 2 extractors with a capacity of 400 liters for supercritical carbonic extraction were installed in factory. As a result, extracts can be produced, whose basic characteristics are purity, absence of the solvents and preservation of the plants' principles. It puts them on the first place in the world in comparison with the extracts produced using traditional extractive processes.
